Off Season Rates. Endless possibilities…
Our great spring and fall rates are only one of many reasons these are favorite times to visit. They run from May through mid-June and late August through October.
Fall Colors
There's nothing like the fall color display of Wisconsin's Northwoods. Whether it's a car ride, pontoon boat tour or relaxing hike, the ways to enjoy it are as varied as the colors themselves. Just don't forget your camera! Peak Color in this area runs from about late September to mid-October. We post our own “Fall Color Report” on our Facebook page every year starting in September.
Fishing
While good fishing can be found all year, the opportunities change as the year progresses. With the fish up shallow, spring is a great time for action. In May and June bluegill, crappie and walleye are biting about as well as they will all year. Fall is the time to think big. If you want a trophy musky or walleye, September and October are great months to find one. The bluegill and crappies will still be biting then too, you’ll just need to look in deeper water.
Hunting
Northern Wisconsin offers some of the best Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock hunting in the country. Along with paper company lands this area has tens of thousands of acres of county, state and national forest land open to hunting. The season for both Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock opens in September.
Hiking & Trails
Hikers, bikers and kayakers will find the spring and fall great times to visit. You’ll find quieter trails and water to truly enjoy these silent sports in silence. Maps to the area trails are available at the office. Kayaks are free for guest use to explore Lake George. Kayak rental is available locally for anyone interested in taking a trip down the Pelican or Wisconsin River. And for birders, our resort is located within and hour of 25 stops on the Great Wisconsin Birding & Nature Trail.
