Brekke's Fireside Resort Policies
Reservations can be made up to one year in advance.
During the Summer Season cottages are rented on a weekly basis (Saturday to Saturday).
The exception to this – Starting on June 1st we accept Summer Season reservations of less than a week (2 night minimum).
During the Spring and Fall seasons cottages are rented 2 night minimum or weekly.
A deposit of $300 per week or $100 for less than a week stay reserves your cottage. Deposit must be received within two weeks and the balance is due on arrival.
If deposit is not received within 2 weeks, cottage will again be made available.
If we are able to re-book your cottage, the deposit will be refunded less a $50 charge. If we are unable to re-book your cottage, the deposit is forfeited. No exceptions.
Check in 4 p.m. Check out 9 a.m. During the Summer Season these dates are not flexible. During the Spring and Fall Seasons there may be some flexibility. Please inquire.
We have always welcomed pets here at Brekke’s, but some rules do apply. We need your help to insure everyone, including your pets, have a great vacation.
- There is a $20/day or $100/week charge for each pet.
- Maximum of 2 pets per cottage.
- Dogs must be both people and other dog friendly.
- Have control of your dog at all times, with a leash if needed. Do not allow them to run up to other guests as some people are afraid of dogs.
- Pick up after your dog. Please throw the bags out in the dumpster, not the regular garbage cans.
- No barking.
- Do not leave dogs alone in the cabins.
- Dogs are not allowed in the main beach area. There is room on either side if you have a dog that swims.
- DO NOT allow pets on the beds or furniture.
If you have a pet that you know will violate this policy, we ask that you simply bring your own blankets or comforters (sheets and pillows will still be provided). All guests deserve a clean cabin on arrival, and pet hair takes a lot of time and work to remove. You will be billed an additional $25/hour for excessive pet hair/pet related clean up.
You will be billed for any damage, such as broken screens or scratches on the doors or windows, caused by your pets. So, please have them under control inside the cabins as well.
Thank you for your help and cooperation.
This is available for a couple renting a two bedroom cottage, but only using one of the bedrooms. $135/day or $780/week. Available during our Spring and Fall Seasons.

Please leave the cabin and our grounds as close to the way you found it as possible.
Have dishes done and put away, sweep out floors, wipe down appliances.
Dispose of all garbage and recycling in the appropriate cans outside. Empty all cans and bottles prior to disposal. Do not throw leftover bait (worms, minnows, leeches) into the trash.
If you take kitchen equipment (dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, etc.) to another cottage, please take it back so future guests have the proper equipment.
Leave the key in the door lock.
Let us know if anything was not working so it can be repaired for future guests.

Yes. There’s plenty of dock space and an area to park your trailer. If you have an on board charger, we have power by the lake. You would just need an extension cord. We don't have a boat launch on site, but there is a free public launch 2 miles away. If you plan to bring a boat, there are new laws regarding trailering. Further information can be found by clicking here. The only kind of boat we don’t allow is a wake boat. Lake George isn’t big enough to handle a wake of that size.
Four lake rules of note are...
- Everyone in a boat is required to have a wearable life jacket along. We provide them.
- Before sunrise and after sunset boat lights are required.
- The hours for waterskiing and jet skiing are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- It is illegal to make a wake within 100 feet of the shore, another boat, swimmer, raft or dock. The minimum distance is 200 feet for those operating a jet ski.
Fireworks or weapons (such as bb guns, paintball guns or slingshots).
Firewood (We supply it)
A dog that is not both other dog and people friendly
A wakeboat (Lake George isn’t big enough to handle a wake of that size)
We offer a variety of boats, paddles, game equipment, beach toys, life jackets, etc. for guests to enjoy. Please be respectful of these items so those after you can enjoy them as well. When done using equipment, be sure to put it back where you found it.
Great! Our swimming area has a sand bottom with a gradual slope. There’s a diving raft anchored in 10 feet of water and a lily pad swim mat anchored at a depth of 5 feet.
Yes. We have a lakeside fire pit. Wood is furnished free of charge. Please do not bring wood from home to help prevent the spread of invasive species. Also, do not use our bar-b-que grills for a campfire. It will damage the grill.
If you have wipes such as disinfecting, personal or baby wipes please use garbage cans for disposal. Do NOT flush down toilet (even if it says safe to do so). Our septic system can only handle toilet paper.
All cottages and the bar are now non-smoking. Please smoke outside, and put cigarette butts in the containers provided.
